The Journaled Email Model

Email journaling is a method of archiving data from an existing messaging infrastructure. Most email systems such as Exchange has a journaling function built in. This function makes a duplicate of an email as it is sent or delivered. One copy goes to the recipient, and the other to your Archive Compliance storage.

This method is most suitable for larger organizations that already have their own message infrastructure. After messages are received from the archive mailbox, they are scanned by latest virus protection and spam control programs before being archived.

The Archive Compliance Journaled Email Model also offers fault tolerance to the client mail server. In the event of unplanned downtime you have an option of storing mail in the queue until the client server comes back online.
